We manufacture roller shutter doors in South Africa and install them in Zimbabwe with our own teams on booked trips. For a Zimbabwean buyer that combination matters: you get a door built in a proper workshop to a measured specification, and it is fitted by the people who made it rather than handed over at a border and left to chance.
How the process works
- Enquiry and preliminary sizing from your measurements and photographs.
- Site survey on a scheduled visit, where we measure properly and check structure, power and access.
- Specification and firm quote, with manufacture, crating, transport, clearing and installation as separate lines.
- Manufacture in South Africa, assembled and cycled in the workshop before it is crated.
- Delivery and clearing, then installation by our own team on a booked visit.
Why we survey before we build
A door manufactured from a phoned-in dimension is a door that gets delivered twice, and here the second delivery crosses a border. We measure on site. Where a customer is a long way from a scheduled trip we will work from detailed photographs and dimensions with a documented tolerance built into the design, and we say plainly that we are doing so.
Doors specified to be repairable in Zimbabwe
This is the single most important decision we make for a Zimbabwean order. We build to standard profiles, common component sizes and mainstream drive ranges, so that a slat, a bearing or a limit switch can be sourced or fabricated without a special order from another country. A clever door that cannot be maintained locally is worse than an ordinary one that can.
Doors for Harare and Bulawayo industry
The industrial areas of Harare, through Msasa, Workington, Southerton, Graniteside and Willowvale, and Bulawayo’s Belmont, Kelvin and Donnington, carry manufacturing and warehousing in buildings that are decades old. We measure what is actually there, assess the steel around the opening, and build to suit the building in its present condition rather than its original drawing.
Doors for mining operations
Workshops and stores on the coal, nickel, chrome and platinum operations run heavy openings on hard duty in dust. Those get heavier curtains, deeper guides, drives rated on real cycle counts, and a specification written around being maintained by the site’s own artisans between our visits.
Doors for the lowveld and the valley
Buildings in the Zambezi valley and the southeastern lowveld work in heat and humidity that the highveld does not see. Coating specification, bearing lubricant and seal materials all change for those positions, and we ask where the building is before we quote.
Crating, transport and clearing
A roller shutter door is an awkward thing to move a thousand kilometres. We crate doors properly for the road, and we quote transport, clearing and duty as visible separate lines so you can see exactly what the cross-border portion costs rather than finding it buried in a door price.
Lead times
Longer than a domestic order and we say so up front. Manufacture runs two to three weeks from approved measurements, and transport, clearing and the scheduling of an installation trip add to that. We give you a real date.
Common questions
About roller shutter door manufacturing
Roughly eight metres wide, depending on the slat gauge and the drive selected. Height is generally limited by the building rather than the door. Unusual openings are normal work for us — the door is built to your measured opening, not cut down from a stock size.
Yes. Powder coating is available to any RAL colour, and we regularly match centre management or corporate specifications. Galvanised is the default where the opening faces weather, salt air or washdown, because the zinc is bonded to the steel rather than sprayed over it.
Yes, we manufacture for trade as well as supplying and installing direct. Tell us the opening dimensions, slat specification and drive requirement and we will quote on manufacture only.
Two to three weeks from accepted quote for a standard industrial or domestic door, with survey and manufacture taking most of that. Fire-rated assemblies and unusual sizes take longer because components are brought in.
