We will be straight with you about this one. We manufacture in South Africa and travel to Zimbabwe on booked visits, so we cannot be at your building in two hours. Anyone promising you that from this side of the border is either exaggerating or subcontracting to someone they do not control. What we can do is get you through the emergency and make sure it does not happen again.
What we can actually do on the day
- Talk your people through securing the opening, over the phone, with photographs going back and forth.
- Diagnose the fault properly from images so the right parts are moving within hours rather than after a wasted trip.
- Ship parts urgently where the site has someone competent to fit them.
- Bring a scheduled visit forward where the situation genuinely justifies it.
Securing a building that cannot be closed
The first priority is never the repair, it is the opening. Strapping a curtain down, fitting a temporary closure, dropping and locking the door with the drive isolated, or bracing an opening until a proper repair can happen. We will walk your maintenance people or your security provider through it, and we would rather spend that hour on the phone free of charge than have a building stand open.
Getting a door open during an outage
A large share of the emergency calls we take from Zimbabwe are not breakdowns at all. They are doors that will not open because the power is off and the manual release has seized or nobody knows how to use it. That is usually solvable in ten minutes on a phone call, and it is why we insist on release training at every handover.
Why we prepare sites for this in advance
Everything else on this site is written around the fact that we cannot arrive quickly, and this page is the reason. A spares kit on the property, a trained artisan, a working manual release and a documented door are what turn an emergency into an inconvenience. If your site does not have those, that is the conversation worth having now rather than during the next failure.
Break-in and forced-door damage
Send us photographs of the bottom rail, the guides and the barrel. Forced doors are nearly always damaged in all three places, and knowing that before anything is ordered means the repair is complete rather than partial.
Impact damage on industrial sites
Where a forklift or vehicle has taken a door out, the guides and the fixings have usually moved with it. We will tell you what to check before anything is re-hung, because re-hanging onto moved fixings sets up the next failure.
Bringing a visit forward
Where a site is genuinely stopped and the work needs us physically there, we will look at the trip schedule and tell you honestly what is possible and what it costs. Sometimes we can add a site to a trip already planned for that region, and that is by far the cheapest way for it to happen.
Contract sites come first
Sites on a maintenance contract get priority on schedule changes and already have the spares and the trained people that make most emergencies solvable locally. That is the practical value of the contract in this country.
Common questions
About emergency roller shutter door repairs
A door stuck open, a door stuck shut, or a door that has come out of its guides. Anything where the building is unsecured or the operation has stopped. If the door still works but sounds wrong, that is a booked repair, and it will cost you considerably less if you call it in before it becomes the other kind.
We make the opening safe and secure first — that is the priority, before any conversation about parts. If a component has to be ordered, the door is either secured shut or made operable manually, and you get the lead time on the day rather than a week later.
Yes. After-hours and weekend callouts carry a higher rate, and we tell you the figure on the phone before anybody is dispatched. You will not get a surprise on the invoice.
Usually. Every motorised door we install has a manual override, and most others do too. Call the standby number and the technician will talk you through it while the team is on the way — sometimes that alone gets you trading again.
