We manufacture in South Africa and install in Zimbabwe with our own teams on booked visits. The whole method is built around one constraint: a return trip is a border crossing, so the survey has to be right and the installation has to finish.
How an installation runs
- Preliminary sizing from your measurements and photographs.
- Site survey on a scheduled visit: opening measured, structure assessed, power checked, access checked.
- Specification and firm quote, with manufacture, crating, transport, clearing and installation as separate lines.
- Manufacture, assembled and cycled in the workshop before crating.
- Delivery and clearing.
- Installation and handover by our own team, including manual release training.
Why the survey is thorough
We check the things that usually go wrong before anyone builds anything: whether the reveal is square, what the guides will actually fix into, whether the lintel exists, what the supply at the opening is, and whether a vehicle can physically reach the opening. Any one of those missed turns a completed job into a second trip across a border.
Whole-site installations in one visit
Where a site has several doors we plan to install them all on the same trip, in a sequence that keeps the building operating. It is the most economical way to buy the work, and it means one mobilisation rather than several.
Installing on mining and industrial sites
Mine and plant work has rules and we work inside them: site induction, permits to work, isolation before anything is touched, and hot work controlled where cutting or welding is needed. We plan the installation with the site rather than turning up expecting access.
Structural work on older buildings
Much of the industrial stock in Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru, Kwekwe and the mining towns is old, and the steel around an opening has taken a long working life. We assess what the guides will bolt to at survey and quote any bracing or steel repair as its own line, because discovering it on installation day is exactly the problem this method exists to avoid.
Installations in the lowveld and the valley
Buildings in the Zambezi valley and the southeastern lowveld work in heat and humidity the highveld does not see. Coating, seals and lubricants are specified for those conditions at the design stage rather than adjusted afterwards.
Lodges and tourism properties
Lodges and hotels around the falls, the lake and the game areas have their own seasons and cannot have contractors on site during a full house. We plan installations into the low season and work to the property’s own access and noise requirements.
Handover and documentation
We do not sign off until the manual release has been operated by the people who will use the door, the isolator is identified, the spares kit is handed over and the documentation is on site. That is the part that makes a door in Zimbabwe last.
Lead times and logistics
Manufacture runs two to three weeks from approved measurements, and transport, clearing and trip scheduling add to that. We give you a real date and we quote the cross-border portion openly.
Common questions
About roller shutter door installation
A single standard door is usually a one-day fit. Multiple bays are phased so you never lose more than part of your dock or workshop capacity at once. The longer part is manufacture — roughly two to three weeks from accepted quote.
No. Our own teams install what we manufacture. It matters more than it sounds: when installation is subcontracted to whoever is nearest, nobody owns the result, and the warranty conversation a year later becomes an argument about whose fault it was.
A structurally sound opening and, for motorised doors, a power supply at the right side of it. The site survey checks both. If the opening needs steelwork or the power needs moving, that is itemised in the quote rather than discovered on installation day.
Yes, and it is included in most replacement quotes. Say so at survey stage so the team arrives with the right equipment, particularly on wide industrial openings.
