- Anti-lift bottom rail with bolts
- Alarm and access control integration
Security roller shutter doors are the largest part of what we supply into Zimbabwe, and the reasoning is straightforward. Where response times are long and a building may stand unattended overnight, a door is not there to make entry inconvenient. It is there to make entry take longer than anyone is prepared to spend.
How we build a security roller shutter door
- Interlocking steel slats in a gauge chosen for the opening rather than a nominal one.
- Deep guide channels so the curtain cannot be levered out at the edge.
- Reinforced bottom rail with multiple locking points rather than a single centre catch.
- End locks on the slats so the curtain cannot be pushed sideways.
- Structural fixings anchored into something that will genuinely hold.
Specifying for delay rather than deterrence
On a farm, a mine store or a business on the edge of a town, help may be a long way off. That pushes the specification toward heavier slat sections, multi-point locking and anchoring designed against attack rather than against weather. We say that plainly instead of selling a light curtain and letting the customer discover the difference.
The fixing is where these doors fail
A strong curtain anchored into an unsound wall is a strong curtain on the ground. We check what the guide is going into at survey, and where it is a single skin, a sheet-clad frame or old brickwork we quote the correct fixing or the bracing the building needs rather than hoping.
Security shutters for homes
Residential work covers patio and stacking door openings, garages, side entrances and domestic quarters. On a property with outbuildings we walk the whole perimeter at survey, because the opening that carries the risk is rarely the one the owner asks about first.
Security on farms, estates and mine stores
Workshops, fuel stores, chemical stores and equipment sheds hold the things worth taking, and they sit away from where anyone sleeps. Those get heavier doors than the house does, and that is usually the opposite of what the original builder assumed.
Doors that still lock during an outage
A motorised security shutter that cannot be closed and locked without power is a security hole on every dark evening. Every security door we supply here can be closed and locked manually, and where we motorise, the drive holds a locking position so the curtain cannot be pushed up.
Shutters for trading premises
Shops and units take solid or perforated curtains depending on whether the window has to work at night. Both are built to the same locking and guide specification; the difference is visibility, not strength.
